Helen Remick, the speaker at our August Meeting has a varied backgound in various fiber arts. Since 1995, quilting has been the growing passion fulfilling that love and it has been her focus since her retirement from the University of Washington in 2005.
Her mathematics background may be the reason she is drawn to geometric patterns. In her quilts, she prefers symmetry, mandalas and spirals. Inspiration for her quilt designs come from sources such as traditional designs or Islamic art.
